Nearshoring: the opportunity of the XXI century to strengthen the north american block
The North America block (México, United States and Canada) is facing a new world reality that offers a range of opportunities that can change its future in a fundamental and highly positive way, in response to:
- The global geopolitical realignment
- The strengthening of the TMEC
- The change of the energy matrix
- The emergence of new technologies for mass use
To take advantage of these trends, we are proposing to use airport infrastructure that already exists in the strategically-located municipality of Agualeguas as a trigger for a new city we have called Tecnopolis. Tecnopolis will exist in parallel with, and as a complement to, Monterrey.
Northeast Mexico, especially its northeastern zone, is becoming the bridge region between Mexico and the United States of America, making it strategically important in the TMEC area. Accentuating this trend would be highly beneficial for all its players.
The region is made up of four border states (Tamaulipas, Nuevo León and Coahuila in Mexico and Texas in the United States) that are connected by already existing physical infrastructure and multiple production chains, and have a shared culture.
This region is especially well placed for the development of emerging products such as electric cars, industrial robots, etc. and the corresponding supply chains such as auto parts, microprocessors, etc., where the advantages of Northeast Mexico and Texas complement each other.
